Job Description

Senior Rendering Engineer

A high-growth company at the intersection of computer vision, simulation, and autonomy is seeking a Senior Rendering Engineer to help evolve their real-time simulation platform. The focus of this role is on optimising and modernising a custom Unreal-based rendering stack, enabling accurate sensor simulation for use cases like robotics, self-driving vehicles, and drone systems.

You'll join a technically elite and collaborative team working on simulation realism, visual fidelity, and architectural improvements to accelerate machine learning and AI perception.

What You’ll Do

  • Improve and extend the existing real-time rendering system (built in Unreal Engine), focusing on performance, scalability, and flexibility.
  • Lead technical efforts around rendering architecture, including updates to support new Unreal versions and rendering features.
  • Develop new rendering features and tools that simulate real-world sensor behaviour (e.g. lighting conditions, depth, distortion).
  • Work cross-functionally with graphics, ML, and simulation teams to support a pipeline used in high-impact, real-world applications.

What We're Looking For

  • 5–10+ years experience in graphics or rendering engineering.
  • Deep C++ expertise and experience working in or extending rendering engines (Unreal preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of real-time rendering pipelines, performance tuning, and 3D maths.
  • Comfortable working on GPU features, shaders, memory/performance profiling, and architecture-level improvements.
  • Bonus: experience or interest in neural rendering, NeRF, Gaussian Splatting, or simulation for machine perception.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, R&D-driven environment and take full ownership of rendering subsystems.

Why Join

  • Work on cutting-edge simulation tech powering the next generation of autonomous systems.
  • Influence architecture and help shape a critical part of a growing synthetic data platform.
  • Competitive salary, flexible remote/hybrid working, generous benefits, and the opportunity to work with a world-class team.
