Ability to travel as needed. Preferred qualifications: 15 years of experience, including 10 years of related partnerships experience in the online media space. Experience leading global teams and working with partners from different regions and cultures. Ability to influence C-level executives on sophisticated business issues with limited oversight. Ability to lead and influence in a complex matrixed organization and balance competing priorities. Agreement fluency, with the ability to interpret legal documents, negotiate agreements, and work with attorneys to complete Term Sheets and Definitive Agreements. The Search Horizontal Partnerships team plays a critical role in delivering the next evolution of Google Search. The team helps connect Search to the vibrant content ecosystems within various third-party platforms, which provide the multimodal data (i.e., Imagery, Video, and Text) that will power a more fresh, engaging, and AI-powered Search experience. The team collaborates with a variety of cross-functional teams, and grows/manages a large pipeline of strategic and complex partners. Its mission is to consistently meet the needs of these internal constituents (e.g., Product, Engineering) while also ensuring success for our partner ecosystem. As the Director of Search Horizontal Partnerships, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing relationships with partner ecosystems that provide rich content and bespoke integrations to enhance the Search experience. These ecosystems range from Social Media Platforms and Content Creators to Image Licensors and Web Publishers. You will be responsible for setting the strategy for not only your team but for Google’s direction on content acquisition across these partner segments and their relevance to emergent, AI-powered features. You will collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, Policy, Legal, gTech, Finance, and other Product Areas to execute complex agreements and/or accelerate the adoption of new technologies by third-party developers. You will track and analyze key metrics, proactively resolve escalated business and technical issues with our partners, and craft creative partnership opportunities with prudent new agreement structures. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $262,000-$369,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Cultivate, develop, and maintain direct relationships with key Search and AI partners. Lead and manage an organization of direct reports, as well as lead by influence in collaboration with internal Google cross-functional teams to structure and execute business initiatives, develop work plans, lead analysis, and develop and disseminate final recommendations. Negotiate agreements and change agreement terms through amendments, extensions, renewals, etc. Analyze post-agreement success metrics and refine/alter distribution strategy based on portfolio’s performance and learnings.
