Position Overview:

Join Support Broker Services, LLC as a valued member of our compassionate team! We are seeking a reliable, friendly, and empathetic Direct Care Worker to support an adult male in his mid-30s with disabilities in his family home. Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate empathy, patience, and the ability to care for the client’s social, emotional, mental, and communication needs.
  • Assist the client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including:
    • Food shopping
    • Meal preparation
    • Light cleaning
    • Transportation
    • Personal care
  • Accompany the client on community outings, such as visits to the YMCA, church, Special Olympics, library, and appointments.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential care records regarding the client.


Communication and Learning:

  • The client communicates using the Rapid Prompting Method (RPM). 
  • You will receive comprehensive training to effectively utilize this method in your interactions with the client, ensuring you are equipped to provide the best support possible.

Requirements:

  • Must be a licensed driver with an insured and reliable automobile.
  • Ability to pass a caregiver background check.
  • Commitment to protecting all confidential information regarding the client.
  • Availability to attend a minimum of one Thursday morning per month from 9:45 AM to 10:15 AM for RPM training with the client.
  • Prior caregiving experience is preferred; however, training will be provided.

Scheduling and Compensation:

  • Enjoy flexible scheduling options, including morning, afternoon, evening, weekend, and overnight positions, offering between 10 to 40 hours per week.
  • Competitive compensation of up to $16.40 per hour.
  • Bonus Opportunity: Complete an online training course for a direct support professional, pass the test, and receive a $250 bonus. An additional $250 bonus will be awarded after you pass the test and continue to support the same client for six months.
