Job Description


As a Business Data Analyst at BlastPoint with a focus in data visualization and storytelling, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between data and customer decision-making. This position requires a unique blend of technical aptitude, business acumen, and communication skills. You will be responsible for constructing business-ready presentations, ensuring data integrity, quality assurance, and providing actionable insights to both our internal teams and diverse clientele.

Primary duties for this position include:


  • Engage with Customer Success, “Support evolving business objectives by flexibly adopting new responsibilities over time.”Data Engineering, and Data Science teams to develop business-focused data solutions including: leading and participating in customer-facing meetings, gathering client requirements, documenting use cases, etc.

  • Convert data insights into visually engaging presentations and customer-facing materials that help clients better understand and utilize their data.

  • Partner with Implementation Management to identify and address any gaps in client data necessary for analysis.

  • Leverage proprietary in-house tools for data transformation, preparation, and analysis.

  • Perform the appropriate data mapping and aggregation guidance required to enable data engineering and data science processes, leveraging client-provided data and reference materials..

  • Support upstream platform onboarding processes by creating and reviewing attribute metadata.

  • Conduct rigorous quality control checks on all data prior to client presentations.

  • Become a power user of the BlastPoint platform.

  • Collaborate with Customer Success in platform staging and other necessary preparations to ensure smooth client onboarding.

  • Manage multiple client projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

  • Adapt and expand responsibilities as the role evolves with organizational needs.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the role by taking on new duties as business priorities shift.

Professional Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business Management, Business Analytics, Data Science, Marketing, or related fields.

  • Intermediate to advanced expertise in spreadsheet or BI software.

  • Ability to translate data science into use case specific customer-facing collateral.

  • Strong grasp of data analysis from a business perspective.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-disciplinary teams.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Flexibility to accommodate US-based customer time zones.

  • Independent work ethic in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Subject to a background check.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience



  • Comfortable using IDEs, terminal for database querying.

  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Python pandas.

  • Familiarity with Git and task tracking tools like Asana.

  • Proficiency with leveraging Canva, Google Slides, or similar web-based graphic design tools for data visualization.

  • Experience integrating LLMs with post-editing into content creation workflows

  • Acute attention to data quality and detail.

  • Problem-solving mindset and adaptability to various solutions.

  • Willingness to travel to Pittsburgh, PA office and to customer sites periodically (2-4 times annually).
