DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Staff Physician 2, you will provide medical treatment, health maintenance, preventive services, and related medical functions for patients in the Regional Forensic Psychiatric Center. You will perform admissions physicals and neurological exams, document assessments, formulate medical diagnoses, conduct rounds, and develop treatment goals and plans for patients. You will also educate patients about medical problems, facilitate patient transfers to acute care hospitals when necessary, and attend medical staff and hospital committee meetings. This role requires thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of primary care medicine and a genuine desire to provide attentive care that promotes well-being. In addition, you will ensure the attending psychiatrist and treatment team are aware of patient medical illnesses and treatment orders, participate in active treatment programming., and respond to medical emergencies throughout the hospital.
