Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our client in Hayward, California. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing organization in the healthcare and social assistance industry. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and accounting operations to support their expanding programs and locations.
This is a FULLY REMOTE position. Local candidates are required for occasional on-site meetings and events.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze accounts payable and expense trends to identify patterns and opportunities for improvement.
• Review accounts receivable revenue trends and update utilization metrics for organizational reporting.
• Prepare and evaluate financial statements, including profit and loss variance commentary.
• Distribute financial statements and utilization performance reports to relevant stakeholders.
• Facilitate budget versus actuals meetings and full-year forecast profit and loss discussions with directors.
• Generate restricted grant financial reports and perform detailed analytics.
• Conduct special financial analyses and research projects to support decision-making.
• Manage general ledger activities, including posting journal entries and maintaining accurate account reconciliations.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts such as cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and accruals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting challenges and streamline processes.

• Proven expertise in month-end close processes and general ledger management.
• Strong experience in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Familiarity with Blackbaud Financial Edge software or similar accounting tools.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams and stakeholders.
