**RWE Clean Energy, LLC** **To start as soon as possible, full time, permanent** **Functional area:** Operations & Maintenance **Remuneration:** Non-Exempt The **Solar Farm Technician II** performs preventative and corrective maintenance for all scopes of an operating power plant, including civil, mechanical, and electrical inspection and repair. **Role Responsibilities:** + Test, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV electrical and mechanical equipment + Ensure that all tasks are performed safely and by site operating procedures + Complete Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), JSA's, Permit to Work, and job-specific documentation that is required to conduct inspection, maintenance, and repairs in a safe manner + Proactively look for improvement opportunities to job appropriate processes and procedures + Perform data collection and prepare reports to meet reporting requirements + Perform balance of plant and switchyard work as required + Monitor the activities of maintenance contractors and ensure corrective actions where appropriate + Perform electrical testing as necessary, including insulation and thermal testing + Document all work and generate reports as necessary + Use Microsoft Office for communication, presentation, and documentation + Use computer software in support of maintenance and troubleshooting + Identify gaps in safety standards and safety risks in the environment + At times, may assist with BOP activities + Respond quickly to emergencies or situations requiring immediate troubleshooting and corrective actions + Ensure site access, site HSE, security, deliveries, and inspections are performed by site protocols + Interface with any 3rd party contractors working at our facilities + Available to respond to nontraditional operating hours for operations, maintenance, and emergent issues, including emergent abnormal operating conditions, execution of maintenance, tracking work orders, resolution of O&M issues + Operate mobile equipment including mowers, forklift, tractor, excavator, and motor vehicles + Represent the company in a professional manner with contractor and vendor relations, as well as during partnership opportunities within the community + All other duties as assigned **Job Requirements and Experiences:** + High School diploma or equivalent required + Associate degree in engineering or related field from an accredited US school other than correspondence or internet preferred. + NABCEP Certfication or Electrical License preferred + Unrestricted driver license in good standing + Minimum 2 years of work experience as a maintenance electrician (commercial or industrial), or 4 years of experience as a multi-craft maintenance technician performing electrical work on operating equipment; or two years experience in operations and maintenance of power generation, transmission, or distribution + Preference will be given to the candidate with experience in solar O&M + Must be skilled in at least one of the following: power plant operations, electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance; substation maintenance + Must be competent in power plant safety protocols + Must be competent in electrical safety + Must be competent in understanding the NEC + Knowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power tools + Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures + Ability to work within tight deadlines, and evolving schedules + Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned, including supporting other sites + Ability to work independently and as part of a team + Routine operation of a computer/tablet and other office productivity machineries, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer + Frequent oral and written communications + Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required + Complete all required training in a satisfactory manner and timeframe + First aid/CPR/AED + OSHA Certified + Shift work + Must be trainable + Must be adaptive to new technologies and methods + Must take ownership of responsibilies and look beyond the work task, with regards to discovering new opportunities for corrective work + Must communicate verbally and orally at an extremely high level **Physical Requirements:** + Ability to work in extreme weather conditions + Ability to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the work day + Ability to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to and over 50 lbs. + This position is a field-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE office and field locations **Pay range:** The hourly base range for this position in California is $32.52 - $44.00. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
