As a Security Guard - Armed Driver in Spruce Pine, NC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability-giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a government location. In this role, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations as needed. You will also interact with staff and visitors, providing outstanding customer service and clear communication. This position requires both armed and driving responsibilities. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and observe for unusual circumstances.
  • Monitor for and report any suspicious or unauthorized activity, escalating concerns as needed in accordance with established protocols.
  • Interact with visitors, employees, and/or residents in a professional manner, providing assistance or direction as required.
  • Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and activities as required by site procedures.
  • Remain alert to surroundings and ready to respond to situations that may arise during the shift.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
