Safety Manager – Civil Construction

Alabama-based site development contractor is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee safety protocols & enforcement on heavy civil construction projects. This is a great opportunity to join a growing company and play a key role in ensuring compliance and promoting a culture of safety across multiple job sites. This company is dedicated to safety. They have an EMR of 0.85 and are always working to improve their safety awareness.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct on-site safety, health, and environmental inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Prepare detailed safety reports and document any safety issues.
• Work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to implement safety policies and improve workplace safety.
• Lead OSHA 30 training for employees.
• Travel is required within Alabama and Georgia (mostly day trips, with limited overnight stays, 2-3 nights per month).

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, (ideally in Safety or a related field),but not required.
• 5+ years of construction safety experience working for a site development or heavy civil contractor . Specificallyon heavy civil projects , including excavation, trenching, utilities, roadways, rigging, confined spaces, and site development .
• Experience working for a DOT or owner will not be considered.
• OSHA Safety Trainer certification is required .
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and reporting requirements.
• Candidates local to the Opelika/Auburn area preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:

• $100K-$125K (depending on experience).
• Company truck provided.
• Full benefits package .
