The Project Designer is responsible for preparing complete and accurate working plans, 3D models, Renderings and detailed drawings from rough and/or detailed sketches/notes by using both hand and computer aided drafting tools in a timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities

  • The Project Designer must have an understanding of how to read, understand, and implement Zoning Ordinances that must be considered while producing designs. Must also know how to obtain the local ordinances.
  • Prepares accurate 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings from rough, detailed sketches, and/or notes by using computer aided drafting tools.
  • Complete assigned duties purposefully and deliberately, supported by management, for the purpose of achievement of company goals, objectives and profitability.
  • Provide hand sketches for visual presentation and or graphic communication purposes.
  • Make changes and /or adjustments to drawings as determined by Manager through graphic and or verbal communication.
  • Must have a subjective talent in design to take constructive criticism.
  • Can take direction to create innovative site plans.
  • Use resource material including Code Books, Internet, and personnel within Klover Architects, Inc., architectural design practices, mathematics, building materials, or general construction technology to complete drawings.
  • Check the quality of your own work, making sure you achieve the required results by using checklist and / or research documents to support your methods and practices. Review drawings before submittal to Manager.
  • Coordinate with other personnel to resolve conflicts in production related to skill level or project schedule and or bring to the attention of the Manager.
  • Follow up on all incomplete and outstanding items.
  • Produce drawing to the Client and Klover Architects, Inc., ensuing design team standards.
  • Verification and provision of complete city submittal packages including, proper amount of drawing sets and completed applications.
  • Limited scope coordination with consultants as directed by Manager.
  • The Project Designer completes other duties as may be assigned by the Manager.

Education & Skills You Need to Bring With You

From a technical perspective, our ideal candidate will bring the following skills & experience with them:

  • Basic hand drawing skills
  • Proficiency in 2D & 3D Modeling software, CAD, SketchUp, Revit
  • Proficiency in BlueBeam and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Proficiency in Lumion
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge of architectural building systems
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated, self-directed, problem solver and ability to work in both individual and team settings
