We are searching for an outstanding Project Accountant to join our team in Nashville. If you have a background in Accounting, a passion for construction, and an insane need and desire to be part of building great projects, then please read on!

What you'll be doing:

  • Assist the Project Manager in the creation and delivery of the monthly owner billing and invoices while adhering to DeAngelis Diamond's accounting standards.
  • Coordinate and track Certified Payroll Compliance, DBE, and MBE/WBE reporting.
  • Review and prepare documents required for timely payment of billing and invoices, supporting project financial reviews, and communicating cost overruns to the appropriate functions.
  • Coordinate all project invoices (cost and revenue) from entry to payment.
  • Manage subcontractor’s compliance including insurance requirements and licenses.
  • You will be required to clearly and professionally communicate with various team members including the Project Management Team, Accounting Team, Subcontractors, Owners, Architects, and other Business Partners.
  • You will be required to meet monthly deadlines.
  • Working closely with other Project Accountants to assist with balancing workload across many construction projects.
  • Reconcile Job Cost and Billings across the ERP, Subcontractor Payable, and Project Management Systems.

What you need for this position:

  • At least 5+ years Accounting experience, preferably in a construction environment.
  • 4-year degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for construction.
  • Ability to work independently and meet monthly deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work in the office or on the job site as needed.
  • Advanced accounting coursework is preferred but not required.
  • Detail-oriented, strong analytical skills, and commitment to delivering quality results.
  • Proficient in MS Office projects with advanced MS Excel knowledge.
  • Experience with Sage 300, AIA Documents (G702/G703) & lien waivers, and knowledge of Tennessee construction lien law is preferred.
  • Ability to use technology, especially cloud-based software, to meet goals accurately and efficiently.
  • Adherence and use of the department's Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a positive "can-do" attitude in a collaborative environment.
  • Commitment to providing a positive experience for all project stakeholders, clients, design professionals, subcontractors, and team members.

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, Box, DocuSign, Textura, Sage 300, Timberscan, and Bluebeam.
