Salary:

Reports to: Worship Pastor
Work schedule: Sunday - Thursday 40 hours per week

Job Summary:

The Portage Band Director is responsible for providing musical direction, and administrative support for the Portage
Worship Department. This person must possess an unyielding love for Jesus and the local church as well as a natural ability
to execute at a high level as part of a fast moving creative team.

Faith-based Requirements:
A personal relationship with Jesus Christ that results in a life lived in obedience to the will of God as described in
the Word of God, evident by spiritual fruit and the desire to grow in the Lord
Support the works of the ministry of Radiant Church
Beliefs consistent with Radiant Churchs Statement of Faith
Willing to become, if not already, a member of Radiant Church within 6 months of employment
Demonstrate a commitment to handling conflict Biblically, following principles in Matthew 18

Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist and oversee original arrangements, tracks for worship songs we are leading on weekends at all locations
Assist in recruiting and developing volunteers to serve on our weekend worship teams in Portage
Chart creation, preparation, and distribution for Portage Weekends
Develop the volunteer Worship team by sending critiques from rehearsals and weekend services
Musically direct worship sets and attend rehearsals as needed
Help arrange and come up parts for songs that are being written in the prayer room and weekends
Assist Student Worship Coordinator with Wednesday night services
Develop a pipeline of growth for musicians from Students worship to Sunday mornings
Train musicians in their use of gear and ableton software
Serve in the prayer room with the Tuesday noon team and other sets as available or requested
Run Auditions for Portage Location and follow up communication with potential team members
Process all incoming and outgoing musician communications
Coordinate and assist in planning of music for Radiant Worship events
Oversee maintenance, ordering, pick up and delivery of musical gear, supplies for weekend services and special
events in Portage
Keep background checks up to date for volunteer team
Process invoices for hospitality volunteers and volunteer Worship Leaders
Provide song reports to CCLI
Record team attendance in CCB
Coordinate interdepartmental projects and events
Attend all Be Radiant classes
Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

Experience with Ableton Live
Strong leadership skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Able to adapt under pressure and to quickly and creatively handle problems as they arise with a positive attitude
Self starter who takes initiative
Excellent customer service, organizational, administrative, and time management skills
Proficient in meeting task deadlines and project timeline requirements
Attention to detail with an eye for excellence
Respond in a timely manner (within 24 hours) to all ministry related inquiries
Able to delegate tasks
Mac OS experience preferred but not required
Valid driver's license required

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related work experience
Associates degree preferred

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
Must be able to remain standing/sitting for long periods of time
Must be able to bend and twist at the waist
