POSITION SUMMARY

Physicians provide superior quality, competitive value, and outstanding service by giving highest standard of quality medical care to Brevard Health Alliance (BHA) patients through the primary care medical home model. Physicians, under the Chief Executive Officer’s supervision, in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer and clinical/front support team, provide extraordinary patient care through BHA Clinics.

GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited medical school with completion of a Podiatric Medical Residency. Board eligible or certified from the American Board of Podiatric Medicine or similar CPME recognized board.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Clear and active Florida Podiatric Medical License
  • Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License
  • 3 years of experience as a practicing physician preferred; experience in a primary health care environment, community health center or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) preferred
  • Current BLS/CPR or comparable training completed through licensure or certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
  • Proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and ailments. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Delivery of Medical Care

  1. Provides direct patient care to Brevard Health Alliance patients. Prescribes or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
  2. Provides oversight of delivery of medical care at the assigned clinic BHA with the support of the Clinical Manager and Executive clinical team. Serves as a mentor and manages the resolution of practice related problems at assigned Clinic.
  3. Provides professional oversight for any advanced practice nurses assigned at clinical location of practice.

Participation in Quality Medical Care

  1. Participates in Quality Improvement Activities.
  2. Participates in utilization and risk management activities.
  3. Participates in review of patient satisfaction surveys and in resolving patient complaints.
  4. Takes ownership and represents Brevard Health Alliance’s mission and organizational goals established by the executive committee. These include, but are not limited to: Productivity, Quality, Patient Satisfaction, and Employee Retention. It is the duty of each BHA employee to incorporate these goals into all daily work routines and strive to achieve and surpass all goals by working as a team. The mission and goals of BHA will be incorporated into each associate’s Key Performance Indicators and will be evaluated on a monthly and quarterly basis.
