Job Description
Responsibilities:
- All PMs and Coordinators will report Directly to the PMO Manager.
- Review Project Time Allocations for PMs on the 16th and 1st of each month. The objective is to go to Paylocity and review the allocation of PMs to projects. This is the first indicator of workload. The PMO Manager will be accountable for the accuracy of the hours of PMs in Paylocity.
- Review workload and assign projects. Work with the Sub-BU Directors, Engineering Managers and project managers to review current and future projects, assign projects, and manage the workload of PMs.
- Review the WIP file monthly with project managers. The objective is to conduct a full review and address the financial issues of the projects, evaluating project for financial accuracy, and anticipated opportunities for margin Increases while mitigating margin erosion.
- Provide mentoring to project managers through constant communication. Work closely with Project Managers and provide mentoring to help them make the right decisions for the company and our customers.
- Conduct and lead monthly WIP audits in conjunction with ELEC SVP and Financial Analyst, eventually conducting these without SVP present while generating some sort of report or update.
- Collaborate with the PMs to capture, review, and provide training on the lessons learned for all functional departments.
- Liaise with Enterprise Apps group on needed tool/system improvements (aACE, Mendix, Smartsheet, etc.) to continue to improve those systems for ELEC needs as our project portfolio continues to expand.
- Lead quality efforts and audits related to project execution. Report these to ELEC SVP and implement remediation strategies.
- Help ensure consistency and quality across all PMs and project execution.
- Maintain PMO guidelines and ensure all team members are adequately trained on the procedures of Electrification
- Mentor and train new and existing project managers.
- Act as the point of escalation with PMs for internal conflicts and customer facing issues. Provide additional support to PMs on key customer projects as identified by the ELEC SVP.
Project Management Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Proven experience in successfully managing complex engineering and manufacturing projects from initiation to completion.
Project Execution:
- Proficient in project planning, and risk mitigation on complex project with customer material and high level of engineering.
- Ability to coordinate with a manufacturing facility and it’s leadership to ensure frictionless transfer from engineering phase to construction phase.
- Ability to forecast hours, and material spend on a project to provide accurate cost to complete figures that will drive project margins and BU revenue.
- Utilize strong conflict resolution and negotiation skill with cross functional customer teams.
