A Neonatologist physician will provide expert care to newborns in a Level III NICU, participate in high-risk delivery services, and engage in academic teaching and clinical research. The role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive neonatal and perinatal care within an academic hospital setting. Candidates must be board-certified or eligible in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine and will have opportunities for career development and faculty appointment at Indiana University School of Medicine.
Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Neonatologist to join our nationally recognized team in Indianapolis. As a leader in neonatal care, Riley Children’s treats more than 3,500 newborns annually across its Level IV and Level III NICUs. Our multidisciplinary team—comprised of board-certified neonatologists, advanced practice providers, and pediatric subspecialists—delivers comprehensive, lifesaving care that often begins prenatally and continues through the NICU stay and beyond. We work closely with maternal-fetal medicine, pediatric surgical and medical subspecialties, and neurodevelopmental follow-up programs to ensure seamless, family-centered care. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic academic environment where your clinical expertise, passion for teaching, and commitment to innovation will make a lasting impact.
This position will primarily serve the Level III NICU at Community Hospital North, which features 48 beds—including 42 private suites—and offers 24/7 access to in-house Riley neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, and a full range of pediatric subspecialists via consultation. Recognized as one of Indiana’s Perinatal Centers and named Best Place to Deliver a Baby by IndyStar, the unit has received multiple awards for excellence in maternal and neonatal care.
