Primary Responsibilities
• Load articles into washers and dryers
• Understand and add specified amounts of detergent, soap, or other cleaning agents • Operate the washer and dryer controls
• Clean the lint in the dryer filters twice a day
• Transfers all linens already in the washer to the dryer immediately upon completion of the first washing cycle, put a new load in the washer and performs the basic duties upon completion of the first drying cycle
• Ensures that all storage & laundry rooms are locked before clocking out
• Removes laundry from chutes & carts; presorts linens to locate stained or torn items • Maintain count of discarded items
• Fold & stack towels, sheets, and other linens
• Clean storeroom & laundry area
• Process damaged linen
• Make sure there are enough linens per floor and stocks each floor
• Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred
• Previous experience with washer/dryer equipment required
• Able to work independently
• Customer service experience
