Novartis is seeking a skilled Freelance Medical Writer to join our in-house team. This role requires a professional who excels at translating complex scientific information into clear, accurate, and engaging content. The ideal candidate is adept at developing content for diverse audiences, including healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies, and patients, while adhering to the Canadian pharmaceutical industry standards and regulations. PAAB and ASC understanding is a MUST.

Key Responsibilities:
• Content Development: Create high-quality, scientifically accurate copy, including print and digital marketing collateral and educational resources for healthcare professionals and patients (Brand, PSP, RMP)
• PAAB Knowledge: Act as subject matter expert regarding content creation, response letters and all things PAAB related.
• Compliance and Accuracy: Ensure all content complies with industry guidelines (PAAB, ASC) and undergoes thorough review for scientific accuracy and consistency. Proofread and fact check work to ensure consistency at layout and in copy.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including studio, commercial, project management and external vendors, to align messaging and objectives.
• Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
• File Management: Maintain accurate version control and organized file systems for all projects.

Essential Requirements:
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or healthcare discipline (e.g., Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or Medicine). Advanced degrees (MSc, PhD, MD) are an asset.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in medical writing within the Canadian pharmaceutical, healthcare, or biotechnology industries. Experience creating promotional tools for patients and HCPs in digital and print formats.
• Scientific Expertise: Strong understanding of medical and scientific terminology, clinical research, and data interpretation.
• Writing Excellence: Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to adapt content for various audiences while maintaining scientific integrity.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure accuracy and consistency across all deliverables, including multi-language documents.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Regulatory Knowledge: Awareness of industry guidelines, including PAAB, ASC a must
• Native English speaker

Pay Rate: $60.47 - $89.49/hr based on experience and qualifications 
Contract: 6-month
