Job Description

COMPANY OVERVIEW  

Tubby Todd is a founder-led, direct-to-consumer ("DTC") family-focused brand providing gentle and effective baby and family personal care products. The Company has focused on providing parents with solutions for babies' sensitive skin conditions (including eczema, diaper rash and cradle cap), and has recently launched a broader array of personal care basics for babies, toddlers and moms based on direct feedback from its consumers. Tubby Todd employs an asset-light model with third-party warehousing, distribution and manufacturing all based in the US. Tubby Todd was founded in 2014, employs 25 FTEs and is based outside of San Diego, CA. In July 2022, the founders of Tubby Todd partnered with NexPhase Capital, an operationally focused private equity firm, to continue to build on Tubby Todd’s industry-leading growth. 

 

POSITION OVERVIEW  

The Event Coordinator will support Tubby Todd’s growing event strategy by managing logistics and execution for internal team events and external community activations, including large-scale playdates and influencer events. This role focuses on task-driven execution, vendor coordination, and real-time problem-solving while collaborating closely with the Community Manager & Senior Director of Community. The Event Coordinator will ensure that every event reflects Tubby Todd’s brand values and creates meaningful experiences for families and influencers. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Event Planning & Coordination: Assist in managing event timelines, production schedules, and budgets to ensure smooth execution and alignment with overall strategy 
  • Vendor Management: Source, manage, and coordinate with vendors for décor, food services, rentals, AV, rentals, and other services. 
  • On-Site Event Support: Assist with setup, execution, and teardown on event days, providing logistical support to the event lead, coordinating with vendors, and troubleshooting as needed. 
  • Internal Team Events: Plan and execute internal team events such as team challenges, and team celebrations to foster connection and build company culture. 
  • Influencer & Community Events: Manage RSVPs, track product shipments, and organize event gifting for influencer activations and community playdates 
  • Post-Event Recaps: Gather feedback, track key event metrics, and share insights to improve future events. 

 

Required Skills/Abilities:   

  • Highly Organized: Exceptional attention to detail with strong project management skills. 
  • Logistics Focused: Proven experience managing event timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships. 
  • Proactive Problem-Solver: Anticipates challenges and works quickly to find solutions. 
  • Strong Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate across teams. 
  • Adaptable & Resilient: Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Technology Savvy: Familiarity with event management tools (Asana, Google Suite, Eventbrite) is a plus. 
  • Passion for Community: Experience with (and LOVE for) family-centric, lifestyle, or community-driven brands is highly preferred. 

 

Education and Experience:  

  • 1-3 years of event coordination experience (preferably in community, influencer, or brand events) 
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and managing event logistics. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, event planning, or a related field is preferred but not required. 

Physical Requirements:   

  • Must be able to travel for on-site events and work flexible hours as needed. 
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for event setup and teardown.
