Employment Service Representative -Temp

SUMMARY: > span class="CharacterStyle1"> The ESR will be responsible and held accountable for exceeding the goals communicated to them by the Center Manager. The ESR will work in a professional and respectful manner with all partners and stakeholder who they serve and seek support. In addition, the ESR will assist customers in navigating computer-based information sources such as America's Job Bank, Work in Texas, and My Texas Careers. ESR will also assist customers with preparation of resumes and applications and ensures customer understands the variety of software programs available for their use.

  PROJECT EXECUTION:

  • Complete Assigned Tasks : Team members are expected to complete their assigned tasks within the defined scope, schedule, and quality parameters.
  • Deliver Quality Work : Maintain a high standard of quality in deliverables, aligning with project requirements.
  • Problem Solving : Identify issues early and work on solutions, collaborating with other team members when necessary .
  • Communication with the Project Manager : Keep the project manager informed of progress, potential delays, and issues that may impact the project.
  • Collaborate with Other Team Members : Engage effectively with other team members, contributing to a cohesive team environment.
  • Share Knowledge and Skills : Bring individual expertise to the project and support the skill development of others through knowledge-sharing.

RISK MANAGEMENT:

  • Identify Risks : Proactively identify and communicate potential risks or issues.
  • Participate in Risk Mitigation : Actively engage in risk response planning and support measures to prevent or reduce risk impact.

ADHERENCE TO PROJECT PLAN:

  • Follow the Project Schedule : Work within the constraints of the project schedule to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure Compliance with Project Standards : Adhere to established procedures, methodologies, and standards defined in the project plan.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

  • Engage in Lessons Learned : Participate in retrospectives and document any lessons learned to contribute to future projects.
  • Provide Feedback : Offer constructive feedback on project processes, suggesting improvements to optimize project efficiency.

SUPPORT RESOURCE and COST MANAGEMENT

  • Efficient Use of Resources : Utilize allocated resources effectively to avoid wastage.
  • Support Cost Control Efforts : Be mindful of project costs and work to complete tasks within budget constraints.

ACCOUNTABILITY and RESPONSIBILITY

  • Accountability for Deliverables : Accept responsibility for assigned work and deliverables, ensuring they align with project objectives.
  • Adhere to Ethical Standards : Uphold professional and ethical standards in line with PMBOK guidelines and organizational policies.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adheres to the mission of SERCO.
  • Shows interest and concern for all customers, treating them with respect and care.
  • Monitors computers and printers to insure they are in good working order. Performs limited troubleshooting of personal computers and submits request for in-depth maintenance when required.
  • Operates and monitors use of fax, copier and phone bank.
  • Obtains and maintains occupational and Labor market information.
  • Make career/job information available through computer and printed material.
  • Maintains information on self-assessment, career planning, occupations, employment opportunities, job market conditions, and other relevant trends.
  • Keeps an accurate usage record for Resource Room on a daily basis. Performs data entry for various reports.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory of available Resource Room materials. Responsible for the custody, care, and safekeeping of agency property and exercises control over expendable supplies.
  • Delivers Orientation(s) for job seekers outreached via Unemployment Insurance (UI) Profiling.
  • Conducts phone calls to job seekers appearing on UI and Dislocated Worker (DW) reports
  • Assists with Curbside services and Virtual Lab services.
  • Manages VOS and Work in Texas System.

14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate or GED certificate.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to learn a variety of relevant computer software programs, computer and other office equipment, and the Internet.
  • Interact with customers in a positive and productive manner. Ability to organize work requirements.
  • Excellent communications/presentation and writing skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess and provide a valid Texas Driver's License and Automobile Liability Insurance as required by the State of Texas.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation in order to travel within service area.
    • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing duties of the job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; for long periods of time. Employee must be able to drive for extended periods of time. Employees must occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, must be able to set up display area.
    • WORK ENVIRONMENT: Fast paced, demanding physically and mentally, will be in constant communications.
