JOB SUMMARY

The Driver Class C is responsible for the timely collection and delivery of donations for Goodwill retail and environmental business operations according to pre-determined routes while providing great customer service. The driver maintains a professional attitude and appearance when servicing external and internal customers and ensures compliance in all safety policies and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate a Box Truck in a safe and efficient manner for extended periods of time per day Load, unload and transport goods to designated locations using safe practices and procedures Adhere to all state mandated DOT regulations Provide excellent customer service to external and internal customers Helps to ensure truck loads comply with GVWR restrictions and weight loads. Perform all trash routes for all three county locations Adhere to all safety standards and inform management of safety, environmental and mechanical concerns Manage all loads utilizing chains or other equipment as required for delivery. Follow assigned routes according to schedule Complete all needed paperwork related to inventory and invoicing Develop and maintain contact with transportation management and work on all shifts. Coordinate with warehouse, docks and retail staff and assist to unload and load all goods and materials. Ability to Drive and Operate End Dump and Roll Off Truck, tractor trailer combination and bobtail trucks with life gates Maintain records of all truck delivery Prepare and maintain all driving logs Report all accidents and traffic violations Operate vehicle in a safe and professional manner. Complete and perform and record pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and other required paperwork Wear Goodwill issued uniform in a professional manner Participate in mandatory testing for drugs and/or alcohol on a random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return-to-duty, and follow-up basis. Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle. Maintain courteous and professional demeanor with customers and colleagues. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of valid class C CA Driver License with a clean record. Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience. Has a California DMV record that is no more than 30 days old Must have a current MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) that has no citation convictions (other than parking) within past 3 years. Has a Department of Transportation medical card. Must be able to read maps and communicate using GW issued radio or phone equipment. Must pass pre-employment DOT drug test as a condition of employment. Must have excellent customer service skills and proven ability to interact effectively with diverse customer base. Must have a flexible schedule including holidays, mornings/evenings, and weekends; schedules may change based on business needs. Respects and has knowledge of cultures, ethnicities, gender, sexual orientations and age groups other than ones own, able to work effectively with all. Must be able to lift minimum 25 lbs.
