Role: Senior Data Scientist Supporting: Large Financial Services Client Location: Hybrid - Tuesday through Thursday - McLean, VA Position Description: We are seeking a passionate Senior Data Scientist / Senior Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to influence key business decisions through data management and innovative data platform solutions. You will design and develop data storage and analytic solutions using data lake patterns, support internal customers, and enhance operations with impactful data insights. Your responsibilities include maintaining efficient data pipelines, developing ETL processes, and partnering with team leads to help mentor junior team members. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline; advanced studies or degree preferred. 5-7 years of experience in data engineering with strong proficiency in Python programming language. Experience with Scala and Java is strongly preferred. Strong experience with Spark SQL, SQL, Gremlin, GraphQL and database management; experience with Snowflake cloud-based warehousing strongly preferred. Strong proficiency with data processing frameworks, DataFrames, Apache Spark, Graph DBs. Experience with cloud platform AWS (EMR, EKS, Lambda). Experience writing statistical and/or optimization programs to develop models and algorithms. Programming languages may include—but are not limited to Python, R. Deep knowledge of SDLC practices including development, testing, and release management. Experience with version control systems such as Git, BitBucket.
