Job Description

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

US: A big-thinking, creative experiential marketing agency that imagines and produces remarkable programs for our clients and partners.

YOU: Born to create things. Whether it’s designing a website or building a photo-taking bicycle, your passion for creating, obsession to detail and dedication to completion overwhelm every bone in your body. You’re compulsive, risky and never accept “the norm.” But you also have a level-head, real world experience and the ability to combine these two sides of you to create ideas, projects and campaigns that wow yourself and your client.

You’ll make use of your strong expertise in aesthetics, design tools and emerging styles to pair marketing solutions with client objectives and needs. You’ll manage and work with multiple resources to bring campaigns to life with creative development.

Previous agency experience is required and we’re primarily interested in someone who has killer conceptual chops, a supernatural design sense, is extremely detail-oriented, can keep an eye on the big picture, can sell an idea across internal and external teams and ultimately has fun doing all of that. Just like we do.

GENERAL SKILLS:

  • Lead the creative direction for a variety of experiential marketing campaigns, events, and brand activations, ensuring consistency and alignment with client objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and produce integrated creative solutions across both digital and offline experiences.
  • Support the creative process from ideation to final execution.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, understanding their brand vision, brief and transforming that into innovative creative concepts.
  • Inspire a creative team, providing clear direction and constructive feedback.
  • Stay on top of emerging design trends, industry best practices, and new technologies to continuously innovate and keep our work fresh and relevant.
  • Present and communicate creative concepts effectively to clients and internal teams, advocating for creative ideas while balancing client feedback.
  • Drive creative consistency across all platforms, ensuring work is aligned with the client’s brand tone, voice, and identity.
  • Have an established track record for concepting, designing and delivering brand experiences.
  • Have 7+ years of experience servicing clients.
  • Are proud of and prepared to show examples of the work you’ve done.
  • Believe there is no try. There is only do.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • You are expert at developing concepts and designs that are relevant to, and that resonate with, the target audience.
  • You concept and design according to the client's brand tone, voice and objectives.
  • You are an expert user of Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote and Google Slides.
  • You can work on multiple projects from concept to finish.
  • You pay attention to the details.
  • Experience in experiential marketing or large-scale event production.
  • Ability to work with external vendors, agencies, or other creative collaborators.
  • Nice to have experience with hands-on design such as 2D and 3D in the built environment.

This is a full-time position based in our Portland Office. Competitive salary, 401(k) and employee benefits package. Manifold is a growth company with a strong commitment to teamwork and developing our employees while providing high quality client interaction.

At Manifold, we are dedicated to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where innovation thrives and every employee can excel. We proudly stand as an equal opportunity employer and welcome individuals from all backgrounds. Our commitment extends to ensuring equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or veteran status. If you require any accommodations due to a disability or special need, please indicate your requirements within your application, and our team will be in touch to assist.

WHO WE ARE:

Headquartered in Portland, OR, with teams in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago, we’re a mixture of expert producers, marketers and advertisers from both the agency, independent and client side of the house with experience in experiential, event and brand marketing, advertising, public relations, production, design, entertainment and partnership development. True to the definition of the word manifold, we’re “of many kinds with different parts, elements, features.” We believe that’s what helps make us unique – in our thinking, in our approach and in the way we conduct business.
