About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead and develop its early-stage, multi-modality pipeline, with a focus on oncology. The CMO will be responsible for the continued building and development of the company's pipeline, leading a team across various clinical and scientific disciplines, and overseeing the design and execution of oncology clinical trial strategies. This role also involves playing an active role in business development, including research collaborations, in-licensing, and acquisitions. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial MD or MD/PhD oncologist with a strong background in early-stage development, people management experience, and a commitment to a culture of collaboration, communication, and high emotional intelligence. Candidates for the CMO position at the company should have a background in oncology or immunology medical training, with previous experience in clinical development leadership within the pharmaceutical industry. Experience in leading early-stage oncology clinical strategies and a background in both biologics and small molecules are highly desired. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in building and leading teams, as well as the ability to develop and maintain relationships with academic research institutions and key opinion leaders. A PhD and/or prior lab research experience is a plus, and the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate high emotional intelligence, a desire to make an impact, and the courage to overcome obstacles in pursuit of their goals.
