A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position is available in a K-12 school setting in Melrose, NM, for the upcoming school year. This contract role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the developmental and educational progress of students by delivering specialized occupational therapy services under the guidance of a licensed OT.

Key qualifications for this position include:

• Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
• Valid Arizona state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
• Minimum of one year recent experience in occupational therapy, preferably within school or pediatric environments
• Successful completion of a comprehensive background check
• Commitment to continuing education and professional development as required by state and district standards

Primary responsibilities include:

• Assisting licensed Occupational Therapists in administering therapeutic activities and interventions
• Supporting students educational and developmental goals through tailored therapy plans
• Monitoring and documenting student progress, with collaboration to modify treatment as needed
• Collaborating effectively with educators, administrators, and families to ensure holistic support for students
• Maintaining precise records in line with regulatory requirements
• Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of occupational therapy best practices
