Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Additive Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and efficiency. This role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, along with proficiency in various engineering software and tools. The Additive Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that production goals are met while maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • The Additive Manufacturing position uses a variety of techniques to build models layer by layer, including laser-based and advanced printing techniques
  • They are responsible for designing and developing 3D printing processes, and for selecting the appropriate materials for printing
  • Conduct process, product, and applications development for additive manufacturing (AM) processing
  • Design, build and optimize bespoke FDM printers
  • Research new materials and hardware for additive manufacturing
  • Assist in the prototyping and design of new products for the healthcare industry
  • Troubleshoot, calibrate and maintain production equipment
  • Deliver on both internal development projects as well as external, customer-driven projects in additive manufacturing

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of additive manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of tooling design and optimization techniques.
  • Understanding of slicing software, such as PrusaSlicer, is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
