Job Summary

Under regular supervision, the Accounts Payable Specialist performs moderately complex Accounts Payable work. Work involves processing, examining, and verifying invoices, documents, and reports. This role contacts suppliers and Getty Staff to resolve invoice and payment issues.

Major Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for processing PO and non-PO invoices, including verifying any sales and use tax that may or may not be required and any withholding on out-of-state or foreign suppliers.
• Review the invoices for appropriate documentation and process 2-way PO matching.
• Prepare daily pay cycles to provide timely and accurate payments (checks, ACH, ePayables, Zelle, domestic and international wire transfers).
• Prepare weekly travel and expenses processing.
• Communicate, resolve discrepancies, and inquiries from the suppliers and Getty staff.
• Research and resolve pending and returned payments, including void, reissue, or cancel liability.
• Reconciles supplier statements, investigates past due invoices, sends payment reminders, and resolves invoice issues.
• Assists in the month-end closing responsibilities.
• Completes special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.
• Other general accounting duties as appropriate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance related field preferred
• 5+ years accounting support experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of applicable Accounts Payable/General Ledger systems and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service/interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software, email applications, and financial reporting systems applications
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials program is a plus
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Ability to maintain confidentially and exercise discretion when necessary
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
