Job Description

Summary:

An international IT Service & Solutions serving the automotive industry located near Plano, TX, is looking for a motivated Accounting Assistant. The ideal candidate should have foundational experience in accounting tasks such as journal entries, general ledger management, invoicing, accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), reconciliation, and preparing monthly financial reports.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and perform reconciliations for daily transactions, along with some entries for monthly closing.
• Assist with the preparation, review, and distribution of financial statements as needed.
• Handle daily accounts receivable (AR) functions and process accounts payable (AP) invoices.
• Set up online banking payments, issue checks, and manage cash transactions with guidance.
• Take responsibility for daily bank reconciliations and report monthly reconciliations to the supervisor.
• Assist with vendor and customer account additions, changes, and deletions.
• Address inquiries related to AP and AR, manage special billing requests, and resolve discrepancies.
• Oversee the management of the company's fixed asset data.
• Assist with tax-related tasks, including sales tax and tax levies.
• Prepare and review journal entries as part of the monthly closing process.
• Contribute to monthly closing activities, including journal entry preparation, payroll processing, and updating the General Ledger system.
• Keep management informed of any issues and developments related to accounting systems.
• Assist with special accounting projects assigned by management.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by management as necessary.

Requirements

• Chinese, Korean, or Japanese language and culture experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, or at least one year of experience in accounting.
• Basic understanding of accounting terms and principles.
• At least one year of experience working in a corporate environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Knowledge of sales tax and experience using accounting software.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Reliable in meeting deadlines and maintaining a professional work ethic and demeanor in all interactions.

Bonus Skills:

• Proficiency in Chinese, Korean, or Japanese Language

While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision and hearing.
