We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Des Plaines, Illinois. This is a Contract-to-long-term position that offers an excellent opportunity to grow your accounting skills while contributing to a dynamic organization. The role begins onsite and may transition to a hybrid or fully remote arrangement.

Responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts payable (AP) transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Perform bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

• Handle account reconciliations to verify and resolve discrepancies.

• Assist with accounts receivable (AR) tasks, including invoicing and payment tracking.

• Record and review accounting entries to ensure proper documentation.

• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Peachtree for various tasks.

• Prepare financial reports and statements under supervision.

• Collaborate with team members to support general ledger (GL) maintenance.

• Conduct intermediate-level Excel tasks, including creating pivot tables and formulas.

• Support the controller and team with additional accounting duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, including internships.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Peachtree.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
• Ability to perform accurate bank and account reconciliations.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
